Hiking, camping and 4WD in the Mojave Desert, Death Valley and Eastern Sierra

These days I'm driving a Toyota FJ Cruiser on desert dirt roads instead of the 10-ton bicycle of all those years past–and then hiking from there. Things change!

I'm also greeted by the Rhodes Cabin host: a desert tortoise

I rarely encounter a tortoise, and this is the second time on this trip that I've met one!
