Hiking, camping and 4WD in the Mojave Desert, Death Valley and Eastern Sierra

These days I'm driving a Toyota FJ Cruiser on desert dirt roads instead of the 10-ton bicycle of all those years past–and then hiking from there. Things change!

After a few dozen miles, I'm on Hwy 120, passing through the Inyo National Forest

I'm making a brief stop here at the Mono Mills historic site before driving on over to the Granite Mountains Wilderness just beyond.
